As a member of the firmware team, you will design and implement reliable &amp; efficient software interfaces to various hardware components on the robot.<a target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer nofollow" href="https://youtu.be/ODSJsviD_SU?t=1037">https://youtu.be/ODSJsviD_SU?t=1037</a>What You’ll Do<ul><li>Implement, debug, and test high-speed interfacing buses to multi-in/out systems comprising electromechanical actuators and sensors.</li><li>Efficiently translate the modeling team’s control loops and algorithms for implementation on computational hardware (available or newly designed).</li><li>Work collaboratively with electrical, mechanical, and controls engineers to define throughput requirements, computational system capabilities, and set targets product roadmaps.</li><li>Advance Tesla IP in developing internal high-throughput sensors and actuators networks for new products.</li></ul>What You’ll Bring<ul><li>Currently working towards a BS, MS, or advanced degree in a relevant engineering program such as Robotics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.</li><li>Graduating and/or able to join as a full-time member within 6 months of completing their academic requirements.</li><li>Strong proficiency programming in C.</li><li>Experience with Embedded/Hardware systems development and implementation.</li><li>Experience developing in an RTOS environment.</li><li>Experience in interfacing actuators, motors, vision elements.</li><li>Capability of delivering high-quality code in an embedded environment.</li></ul> Nice to Have<ul><li>Embedded Control Systems.</li><li>Familiarity with hardware description languages (VHDL) and FPGA/CPLD’s.</li><li>Familiarity with industrial safety concepts and Industrial communications buses (Profinet, EtherCAT, CANbus).</li><li>Translating industrial safety to communication layer safety (ProfiSAFE, FailSafeoverEtherCAT, etc.).</li><li>Familiarity with the computational aspects of neural networks.</li><li>Familiarity with simulation tools such as Matlab / Simulink.</li></ul>Compensation and BenefitsBenefitsAs a full-time Tesla Intern, you will be eligible for:<ul><li>Aetna PPO and HSA plans &gt; 2 medical plan options with $0 payroll deduction</li><li>Family-building, fertility, adoption and surrogacy benefits</li><li>Dental (including orthodontic coverage) and vision plans.
